The route to the shrine is along the Star Path, whose length is given as The official temple information does not currently give a precise pathway length; some secondary references describe the route as more than 1.8 km. Add the walk from the parking bay and back.

Vellore can be hot, and you walk barefoot once footwear is deposited. For elderly visitors, planning the walk for the morning after darshan opens at 8:00 AM, or for later in the afternoon, avoids the strongest midday sun. Crowd levels are not published; if you have flexibility, ask the PRO office which days are expected to be busy.
