Who runs this website
The website is created and edited by Sai Kiran, a history and temple enthusiast. Sripuram Visitor Guide is an independent, unofficial visitor-information website. It is not the official website of Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple or Sri Narayani Peedam, and it is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by them. It is non-commercial.
Source hierarchy
- Official temple sources (the official Sripuram website): timings, sevas, donations, bookings, rules, dress, facilities, accommodation, contact details and announcements. For current temple operations, the official source always wins.
- Government sources (Vellore District Government, Tamil Nadu Tourism, Indian Railways, TNSTC, the Archaeological Survey of India): destination, district, monument and transport information.
- Secondary references and mapping data (for example Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap): background and approximate distances only.
- Independent planning guidance: our own estimates and suggestions, always labelled and never presented as temple policy.
How information is labelled
- Official temple information or Government information, with a link and the date it was last verified.
- Historical background: context from a cited reference.
- Independent planning estimate: a number we suggest, such as a road distance or travel time. Not an official temple estimate.
- Independent planning guidance: practical advice, not a temple rule.
- Visitor observation: a dated, attributed first-hand report.
Fact-checking
Facts about temple operations are checked against the official website, and each one shows the date it was last checked. When sources disagree (for example, on the number of layers of gold foil), the page says so instead of choosing one. If a fact cannot be verified, it is removed or marked "could not be independently verified".
How often information is reviewed
- High volatility (darshan and seva timings, seva availability and donations, special events, booking arrangements, rules, parking, accommodation, contact details): the aim is to re-check monthly and before major festivals.
- Medium volatility (facilities, transport and routes, visitor procedures): every three months.
- Low volatility (history, architecture, origins): when new sources appear or a reader reports a problem.
"Published", "Updated" and "Last fact-checked" dates are entered by hand when the work is done. A website rebuild never changes them.
Visitor observations
This website currently has no first-hand visitor observations, so it does not publish wait times, crowd patterns or recommended visiting times as facts. If genuine observations are added, each will show the date, time, conditions and the person who observed them, and will be labelled as one person's experience.
Corrections
Reported errors are checked against sources. Confirmed corrections are made on the page, and significant ones are recorded in the public corrections log.
AI assistance
AI tools assist with research organisation, drafting, editing, development and content maintenance. AI assistance does not replace factual verification: current temple information is checked against the official sources, unsupported AI-generated claims are not accepted, and this website does not publish fabricated first-hand experiences, quotes or reviews. Responsibility for what is published rests with the editor.
Independence and money
The website accepts no payment for coverage, carries no advertising and does not collect donations. Sripuram Visitor Guide is an independent, unofficial visitor-information website. It is not the official website of Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple or Sri Narayani Peedam, and it is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by them.
